Ballantyne’s 28277 ZIP Code is in High Demand!

Ballantyne was ranked no. 2 among sought after ZIP codes in the U.S.

Welcomemat Services, which releases information to local businesses about new residents, recently revealed a report showing the Ballantyne ZIP code of 28277, had 594 move-ins for the month of May. The university area’s 28269 code was also ranked highly with 511 move-ins in May to rank sixth. Huntersville’ also made the list with 445 move-ins, ranking 20th.

Here are the top five cities, ZIP codes and number of move-ins during the May 4-31 period:
1. Katy, TX; 77494 – 596
2. Charlotte, NC; 28277 – 594
3. Chicago, IL; 60657 – 576
4. Virginia Beach, VA; 23462 – 560
5. McKinney, TX; 75070 – 530

 To those who live in the area or even surrounding areas, it comes as no surprise that Ballantyne would receive such reviews. Ballantyne is an all around quality community; valued for its highly ranked schools, gorgeous homes, and of course the picturesque architecture that flows throughout the area. The area works much like its own small city with top options for work, living, and leisure. Ballantyne Corporate Park adds to the thriving job market, while the area is also in close proximity to major highways leading to uptown Charlotte.

The recent opening of MetLife in Ballantyne Corporate Park (currently occupying two buildings) has played a major role in the increasing number of move-ins. The company began adding jobs to the area last year. Metlife has said by placing its retail business in one location would allow for more collaboration within the division.

Mecklenburg County approved approximately $3 million in incentives in order for the move to occur. In addition, Metlife will be receiving close to $90 million in state incentives over the next 12 years. These state incentives will give way to the addition of over 2,000 jobs in North Carolina by the end of 2015. MetLife say they plan to add roughly 1,300 positions in the Charlotte area. Officials say those jobs will pay on average $58,000 per year.
